In praise of best friends

About 20 years ago, I met a very close friend of mine, who was one of the first people to completely love and see me. I spoke to him last night, talking about our lives today, and updating each other about our partners and the kids in our lives. It feels so wonderful to know someone so well and vice versa. My life is all the better for this rare and special friendship.
