Health care reform is a game changer in the battle for the hearts & minds of the middle class

In my opinion, the real reason health care reform has been stonewalled by the Republicans is that they know, if it passes, the Democrats will be seen as the party that truly represents middle class interests, just as this happened after the enactment of Social Security and Medicare. William Kristol and Karl Rove have said so much publicly. For them, this is less about ideology, no matter what they say, and more about pure political power.
