I love small but intense joys. Today, I had my two favorite flavors of ice cream (chocolate & salted carmel) at San Francisco's best ice creamery -- Bi-Rite -- with a close friend. We talked from our hearts about our Christmas trips, the sad and alienated lead character in the movie "Shame", and the role of intimacy (and its corresponding messiness) in our daily lives. So deeply satisfying.
