Recently, I got an email from this brave gay couple who is advocating for marriage equality in the South. Meet Monroe Moore and Lupe Perez of the Campaign for Southern Equality

Watch Monroe and Lupe (with their 3 kids) demand to be married:

Introducing their organization: The Campaign for Southern Equality:

People like these are walking Buddhas, standing up for love and fairness and doing it in a non-violent way. Please help support them.

  1. I have had the honor of knowing Lupe for nearly 30 years. He is a loving, kind, intelligent man who served his country in the military, and who, with Monroe, has created a nurturing home for three children. Lupe and Monroe love each other, and together with their kids, they are a family. I don't know any more about their private, intimate lives than I do about any heterosexual couple. I have no business knowing, because it does not affect me, it does not harm any one, it does not alter in any way their ability to love and nourish each other and their children. Someday Americans will surely come to grasp that 'family values' are EXACTLY what Lupe and Monroe represent, and I for one will raise a glass to toast them on their wedding day.
