Today, California became the first state in the nation to outlaw the use of ex-gay conversion methods on LGBTQ youth! Thanks to YOU, Gov. Brown, the CA legislature, Gaylesta, and many supporting organizations.

Because of the brave leadership of Gov. Brown, gay minors like these in CA will no longer be subjected to the dangerous and harmful methods to try to change their God-given sexuality.

Here is what the governor said in signing this bill:

“This bill bans non-scientific ‘therapies’ that have driven young people to depression and suicide. These practices have no basis in science or medicine and they will now be relegated to the dustbin of quackery.””

Psycho-quackery, indeed. In fact, my friends and I coined that term to be used in this battle and we are glad that the governor picked up on it to convey his thouthgs.  Since my friends and I spent countless hours on this effort, we cried when we heard the news this morning, rejoicing in our successful efforts and knowing that hundreds of thousands California youth will be protected from these ex-gay methods.
